Mr. Moberly has conducted over 75 national-regional presentations, training seminars, and engagements for companies and business professional associations on a range of issues security related matters, particularly, the growing need to respectfully guide company management teams, D&O’s and investors to:
A professor at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale (1982-2002), Mike brings strong domestic-international experiences, operational insights, a current research regimen, and objective writing - communication skills to his engagements in capacities as an analyst, strategist, practitioner, and training specialist to execute.
In the early 1990’s Mike set forth on an aggressive path of applied research, publishing, course development, teaching, national presentations, and consulting with forward looking (national, international) professionals on matters exclusively related to intangible assets and intellectual properties.
Through his St. Louis-based consultancy and 22+ years of experience in security matters, Mr. Moberly’s services and engagements focus on transactions and/or circumstances in which intangible assets (and IP) are in play. KPSTRAT works primarily with management teams of early stage firms, SME’s, SMM’s, and corporate-university research alliances. Mr. Moberly’s expertise also makes his services particularly relevant to litigation support, investigative research, and matters related to market entry planning.
KPSTRAT’s work and services frequently involve conducting (company, business unit) assessments and due diligence to determine the status, fragility, stability, and sustainability of their intangible assets as a requisite to extracting value, e.g., positioning, maximizing, leveraging, etc.
Mike holds BA and MPA degrees from Indiana University along with hours toward a doctoral degree in political science. He continues to teach for SIUC and Webster University’s graduate program. He previously held positions in the Federal Bureau of Prisons and Indiana Department of Corrections. He served in the U.S. Army with the 82d Airborne Division and 173d Airborne Brigade in Viet Nam.
Mr. Moberly holds professional memberships in the American Society for Industrial Security-International, Intangible Asset Finance Society, and the Coalition Against Counterfeiting and Piracy (U.S. Chamber of Commerce).
