Dedicating an individual to be responsible for identifying, managing, using, and protecting (a company’s) intellectual capital is a prudent business decision with a strong and defensible value proposition!

Goodwill represents an intangible bond between a company, its products and/or services, and its employees, clients, customers, investors, suppliers, distributors, shareholders, and stakeholders, etc.
Will the collective affect of In Re Bilski’s (1.) the pre-decision speculation, (2.) the Courts’ actual decision, and (3.) post-decision analysis and interpretation stifle, dampen, undermine, or otherwise adversely change the course of the progress that’s been made to date with respect to management teams and boards understanding, acknowledging, and integrating intellectual capital and intangible assets in their strategic planning and decision making processes.
A company’s competitive advantages (business differentiators) are also intangible assets which should be routinely monitored and assessed for their vulnerability to duplication/replication.
An intangible asset company cultures can be profitable.
